and what sucks is, i'd be unbelivably more wealthy and at the same time incredibly unhappy if my own list looked like that.

i think it all goes back to my first driving lessons involving my dad, a yamaha-60cc-powered go-kart, and a racetrack in davis, ca.

If my dad ever took me driving my world would be very different! I doubt you'd be more wealthy in any way that counted, no?

i was speaking strictly of monetary wealth, because i have dumped a considerable amount of money into payments and modifications over the past 10 years. probably into the low-six-figures if i bothered to add it up.

but you're right, other parts of me, that i consider definitive, would be missing; i wouldn't be the same me, and considering it, i don't know if i'd really take the other path.

Even if we are just talking cash, whatever skills you've learned with this path will may end up earning you more money than you would have otherwise, anyway. To me, when I think about financial security or wealth it's always more about earning potential and ability to generate income rather than cash flow.

when i finally figure out how to make THAT pan out, i'll let you know.

but this next purchase is intended to be a step in that direction.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a linear progression - I'm sure you know more about problem solving than the average bear.

Cars have been necessary for me to go to work.

So I think I'm probably even on cash, cars-wise.

...and when you throw the two-wheelers into the equation? :>

I'm actually down no more than ten grand, tops on bikes. Most of them I sell for close to what I pay for them. Other than the Kawi I totalled (3k) and the racebike that ate all my money, that is.

But that racebike turned into a trophy!
