i read this editorial on paper a few weeks ago while i was at reception here @ fort sam. thought i'd share it, because i was a bit surprised on the feelings of those "inside the machine".

been on thanksgiving on-post pass for the past 3 days; nice to finally have free time and no obligations for the first time in 3 months.

hope the holiday found all of you well.

I pick up Army Times at work occasionally - I was a bit surprised to see that they are "allowed" write stories like this.

Not to be too "rose-colored-glasses," but I'm proud to live in a country where our military can criticize the executive office.

That article was big news before it even came out. Oddly until now I never bothered reading it. Doesn't really say much other than things have been quite mishandled and someone needs to step down. Which finally happened. Think it will make a difference?

I'd be more curious to know what people think inside the machine now that the dems nabbed control of the house and senate. I expect that to be full of mishaps, political posturing, promises broken and a lot of rah rah rah.

Next time you post - tell us all a good story. Something funny about training or whatever makes for a good quick funny "life in the military" adjustment.

i've got about 15 chapters on basic ready to post- i haven't written much since i got to TX because they keep us very busy, and what free time we have has to be used studying if you want to get decent test scores, but what i've got is pretty good, i think.

i'm in socal right now visiting the extended family but i'll have everything posted by the time i go back to TX on the 1st.
