welcome to canada, what you should know

citizenship and immigration

canadian jobs & careers

renouncing US citizenship

i've considered the idea; definite pluses are that i'd escape the driving and credit records i established during my (many) youthful indiscretions. & now that i've established a more healthy pattern of illicit drug use, i'd pretty much fly under the radar where that's concerned.

but it's just too cold up there.

so if anyone needs me if/when the ship goes down in flames, i'll be on the poop deck with a cherry coke, my bong, a big bag of popcorn, and the usual s***-eating cynical smirk on my face.

i'm always at my best when the water starts licking my toes anyhow.

...but it's just too cold up there.

I'm cracking up right now because that is the *one* reason that I (and *every* single person I've talked to) won't ever do it.

But hell, with global warming the way it is, it's only a matter of time, right? ; D

i dunno- i think that's a big myth- how many people saying that have actually been there?
Vancouver is 100% fabulously beautiful.
Summertime is like San Jose (better than SF)-
Wintertime it just rains a little more, but it only snows a couple days a year.

when i went to oregon in february it was absolutely fucking freezing and i got to practice snow-drifting.

vancouver is a couple hundred miles farther north, is it not?

also see zv's comment.

being on the coast has something to do with it as well- i dunno- all i can tell you is what i saw when i was there and what i was told by people who live there hahah

hey, even if you don't dig it that much, at least you did it so you don't have to wish/wonder anymore.

it took me _way_ too long to get to AZ.

Make it a vodka-redbull and a bar of chocolate and I'll be sitting right next to you.

I like you and all, so if you leave, you can be the recipient of my hundred dollar pledge.

But, you have to spend a hundred bucks of your own to help some Mexican migrant worker get a green card. I think he'll appreciate this place. Some of them have fought desert and mountain to come here, and I'm proud and honored to share my home with them.

honestly, the only way i can think of it actually happening is if some fantastic position opened up at UoP's vancouver campus and they saw fit to relocate me for it.

i'm enrolled and committed now, and if i quit i have to start actually _paying_ for school, so i'll most likely still be in AZ during the next election, presuming one of my vices doesn't cause me to fall to the wrath of Arpaio (who also got re-elected, goddamnit).

finally, i personally think that the "desert and mountain" tribulation speaks more to how much mexico sucks than how much the states don't.

hehehe... I've been wanting to move to Canada for awhile, but thought that Kerry would be elected and I'd have some time.

It is fucking cold, but my ass isn't going to sit through four year of no-face-saving-for-re-election-purposes Bush.

How is it that this country is so fucked?
