& on a more personal level, i decided to quit caffeine this week. it's gone a lot better than i expected. in practice it really just means i've switched from cherry pepsi and mountain dew to mug root beer and sprite, but i think the placebo effect has helped.

given that i'd been ingesting probably 4 liters of soda per day over most of the past decade, i thought it'd be harder; but the only changes i've noticed are that i'm less stressed when dealing with problems at work, and that it's easier to go to sleep at night, and wake up in the morning.

i'm gonna stick with this. maybe nicotine's next on the axe-list, idunno.
