brief entry as i'm on a borrowed connection-

basic was too easy.

i have 16 chapters on it written, but i need to transfer them to text before posting.

i'm in san antonio now, in a reception battalion waiting to start EMT/combat medic training.

jette, your CD arrived the night before i left missouri- perfect timing :)

thanks to all of you that wrote. i'll post a new address once i'm in my training company here in TX.

back to guard duty.

Right on - I lagged on it and was afraid it would miss you. Hope you like it. :-)

Good luck on your training!

it made the bus ride trip down here to TX seem a lot shorter, i'll tell you that :)

You're done with basic already?? Damn! You sound like you're pretty OK with everything there too. Sweet man!

When are you free again and back in the area?

I look forward to getting you trashed and hearing stories. =)

Good werk soldier!

yeah, basic is 9wks long (plus whatever time you spend in reception).

i'm here in TX for 20wks; after that my commitment is 1wk/mo in oregon unless they ship me out. but i need to swing back through cali @ some point to tie up loose ends, so that'll happen probably in the summer.

thanks man :)

btw - I didn't realize I wasn't logged in. That was my post in regards to startup shit. Right. Really need to get back on a normal not-going-to-bed-at-9am schedule after working all night...

Shit - you should be in good shape now! No more smoking and PT. You should be feeling pretty damn good from that combo alone!

*glee*

Write me soon. I've been saving up letters to send when I have an address in TX to post to. You're like ... creating a correspondence back log, or something.

Call me soon. I promise not to screen your call this time.

Erf. I'm sorry I didn't write back, I meant to, but, you know... sorry. I will try to write when you post your new address though. If it does you any good, I thought of you a lot, hoping you were doing well (and that you wouldn't end up hurt in Bush's war, if I'm honest).

EMT/combat medic training - cool. We had a couple of guys with us in New Orleans who were former military medics, so that's great stuff. There was one guy I wish I'd gotten to talk with more, but didn't get to it. I'll bet he has lots of stories to tell; bet you will, too.

M*A*S*H and all that. :)

Good luck, and I hope to hear from you soon!

reception is boring so far, because you're basically just waiting for a training class to start, but yeah it should be interesting once it gets going.

looking forward to hanging w/ you guys sometime in late spring. take care :)
