having only recently figured out that you can now make your friends filters public, i've done so with my "news" and "comics" filters. there are links on my main page.

How do you make them public? I wouldn't want people seeing mine, I don't read half, no, much more than half of my friends list. The people I read are under a "people I want to read" filter. I think people would get pissed if they saw they weren't on it.

they're private by default. but to answer your question, to make one public, from your userinfo page, do Manage:Friends, select Edit Custom Friends Groups, select the group you want to be publicly viewable, click the Public button near the bottom, and then save changes.

I dunno if this is a problem that others have had, but for me, I get a message that reads:

"Denied

Sorry, the friend group you are trying to access does not exist or is not public."
