continued randomness

xmas eve. yeah.

went to bed feeling ok this morning at about 3am, but before i got to sleep i was hit with a major wave of depression.
don't know where it came from.
finally fell asleep, & then woke up feeling fine at half past noon.
*shrug*

---

i've decided i should stop trying to make myself understood to people.
if they don't get it, fuck them. i'll find someone who does.

---

went to an xmas eve service with the family tonight.
the preacher made some disparaging comment about "paganism" in the world-

it was then i was struck with how *incredibly hypocritical* that was of him, because he made that statement while standing next to a christmas tree (show me where in the bible that came from), in the middle of a ceremony that involved lighting 5 candles (for mary, the wise men, angel gabriel, & i forget the other two). if that ceremony didn't have a "pagan" flavor to it...

it never really hit me until that point how fucking retarded the past thousand years worth of holy wars have been- because from what i've seen, with the exception of a few eastern religions that still remain more of a "way of life" rather than a religion per se, everyone's saying the same goddamned thing a different way, dressing the same dead horse up in different garb and proceeding to beat the shit out of it with a different blunt object.

---

mmm. heineken.

---

at that same xmas eve service, ran into a girl named sarah that i went to faith christian with, before i left for san jose and lynbrook- had a crush on her back then, but as a member of a lower social caste at the school, it was simply not meant to be at the time.

she insisted i call her while i'm still in town.
*grin*
my validation for the day.

dude. the history channel rocks. right now i'm watching several hours' worth of automotive history programs- 2 hours ago was german racing in the 1930s (mostly mercedes and "auto group", later to become Audi or VAG depending on who you ask), after that bugatti (yum), and this hour's on carroll shelby (someday, i will build a tube-frame GT40 with a turbo SVO mustang engine)...

---

awright, i'm done.

someday i too shall have a gt40

only with a 289 in it - destroked 5.0, four weber DCOE's, and a set of bundle-of-snakes crossover headers.

nothing like a v8 hitting eight and a half - it's nice to know that a ford 289 bottom end w/ modern metalurgy has a shorter stroke and better balance than many high-rpm monsters like a type-r b18...

... now, if only they'd make a head for that motor that wasn't designed by cavemen...

hybrids. the way of the future.

aren't there four-valve heads available for the 5.slow block, or am i smoking crack?

(car talk at 6am on xmas morning. good god, we're sad fucks.)

Re: hybrids. the way of the future.

there are four valve heads, but the only ones i can think of are pushrod (eek!)

speaking of svo turbo motors, did you know the 5.0 bolts into an xr4ti? (i love american v8's, i just hate the cars they usually come in.. but the xr4ti has the same chassis and suspension mounting points as a cosworth sierra.....)

cool, but... why?
IM(NH)O, the 2.3 turbo is the best thing ford's done (for themselves, all those SVO motors yamaha built for them don't count) in a while.
2.3T mustangs can run single-digit 1/4s...

but the xr4ti has the same chassis and suspension mounting points as a cosworth sierra...

oooooOOOOOOOoooooh...
the cosworth sierra comes in an AWD version right?
2.3 turbo AWD xr4ti...
i think that's just wierd enough for me....
fuck it, i should just buy a damned DSM

are you pondering what i'm pondering pinky?

so - a crashed cossie sierra, complete with bad-ass cosworth YB block (the finest turbo four ever made, IM(NS)HO...) can be had for a few thousand pounds.

everything "ought" to bolt on to an xr4ti w/ blown engine, giving us a us-spec cosworth sierra with a motor that's good for 600hp, and awd. this assumes you have time, money, and garage. right now i have time, money, no garage. before i had money, garage, and no time...

nice thing about the 5.0 is you can run it w/ an eec-iv... one cpu to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them. (oh wait. darkness. that means lucas, doesn't it)

I was watching that too- I saw Bugatti and Shelby-

Damn those GT40 Mk2s are sweet.
Yah yah! Destroke!
I was *just* thinking how you could destroke a Subaru 2.5 motor to something like 1.8l-
Then rev it to 12k- hahahah.

Re: Hahahah

blah... i still say:
where displacement = X
.5X + turbo > .9X revved to hell

but then again... i still wanna destroke my gti's 16v to 1.9 and see if i can make it hit 10k... we'll see =)
